[Oscar Winning Animated Short Film]  Title : SPECIAL DELIVERY

When Alice phelps left home that day to go to her Judo class, she told her husband Ralph to clean off front walk before he left for work.
Set all ready with you.

But Ralph never did what his wife told him to do.
When Ralph returned to home, there’s a body lying on his front stairs.
It was the mailman. He obviously slipped off on the ice Ralph hadn’t cleaned away and broken his neck.

Ralph fearing the lad of the letter carriers’ union carried the body into the house.

It is cited that he would put the body into the trunk of his car, and dump it somewhere before anyone noticed the mailman was missing.

A problem struck him if the police investigated disappearance were the mailman, there was a rather obvious clue. All the houses on the mailman through preceding his own would have had mail delivery every that day.

Those after he is would know.

Ralph wondered if he should turn himself in.
If he remembered that mailman had once broken his leg on a prank properly. That had cost friend a lot of money.

A broken neck was probably considered as bad as 10 broken legs.

Ralph poured himself drink to steady his nerves, then he undressed the mailman and leaving the mailman comfortably living room share, put on the mailman’s uniform and Ralph delivered mail.
No one noticed it was a Ralph delivering the mail instead of regular mailman.
Phew..

When he got home he found that his key was still in his own pants, not in a mailman’s pants.
He tried to get in the window, but he was spotted by some policemen passing in the police car.

They accused him in trying to break into the house.
Ralph claimed it was his own house.
But the policemen were doubtful that a mailman could afford such a large house.
Ralph remembered there was a body in his living room, dropped the subject.

As they were taking him away a policeman told a Ralph he was the disgrace to the lad of carriers’ union.
When Alice came home she found the window had been forced to open, she found the mailman, a pile of clothing and open bottle.

She had an affair with the mailman some years before.
She’d broken up with him, but it seemed he had come back.

He’d broken into the house to see her.
Hello~
And not finding her, add drunk half bottom of whisky, ripped off his clothes and fallen into a stupid.
It was just like him she thought.

Fearing the Ralph would return soon and find him there, she dressed the mailman, put him in the car, drove to his apartment, carried him up the stairs and put him into bed, she gave him a last kiss before leaving.

For the first time she noticed he wasn’t breathing.
For the first time another possibility occurred to her.
Perhaps the mailman had been surprised by Ralph. No no no no.
And Ralph killed him.
Perhaps Ralph was all buying a gun ready to moment to kill her, too.
Alice drove away to another province and started her new life under the name Patricia.

Meanwhile, Ralph was being released from police station. Lad of carriers’ union still under a misapprehension Ralph was a regular carrier and paid his bail.

When he got home he noticed the bod had disappeared.
He burned the mailman’s uniform and resolved to forget the whole thing.

When the trial day for the mailman arrived, he did not show up.
The authority went to the mailman’s apartment and found that he’d passed away in his bed.
One of the policemen noticed he would look different, but another said that was just because he was dead.

A coroner was surprised to find the mailman had died in broken neck in bed.
He surmised that mailman felt it would have been more his crime and dreamed he was being hang.
That result in reflexing his neck muscles and snapped his neck.

After a while Ralph stopped worrying about the fact the body disappeared. And his wife, phelps never come back.
And all along happy years followed.
Ralph never cleaned walk.
